Over a 10 year period I have coached runners of all ages, across distances ranging from 800m to marathon. I have coached high school athletes to countless personal bests including sub-2 minute 800m, and numerous state championships. I have also coached masters age groupers, helping them qualify for major marathons such as Boston, some for the first time ever in there lives. I have helping the most seasoned marathoners set personal bests in race distances from 5k to marathon.
I coach for multiple reasons. I love helping people achieve goals they never thought were possible, seeing the joy it brings to their lives, and how it becomes part of their identity. I also love teaching, allowing them to someday walk away from the athlete-coach relationship with not only personal bests, but an education.
I structure my athletes training using a periodized approach, ensuring I break an athletes program down into mesocycles where we focus on specific physiological adaptations required to accomplish their goals. As an engineering major in college, and now professionally leading an analytics product, I am very data driven. As your coach, I am constantly monitoring workout data, acute fatigue levels, and ensuring we are balancing pushing the boundaries of adaptation while avoiding injury.
My background is in running, but I have found a new passion in triathlon. My favorite run distance is the half marathon, where my personal best is 1:15:18. My favorite distance in triathlon, albeit a sample size of one, has to be the full Ironman distance. My biggest race accomplishment was placing 8th overall at Ironman Lake Placid with a time of 9:44:41.
I look forward to getting to know you, and helping you achieve your personal goals!
